Busamed Paardevlei Private Hospital nurses celebrated their first Nurses Day on 12 May 2015

Mr Ahmed Nana (COO Busamed) addressed the nurses with the emphasis on “Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare”.

This quote is important, as any person will tell you, where there is a heartbeat, there is life. In the team of healthcare professionals nurses play a pivotal role in the healing of a patient. For centuries nurses have tirelessly dedicated their lives to the healing of not only patients but communities as well.

Mr Nana saluted the BPPH nurses as well as nurses everywhere. He said that nurses are walking in the footsteps of great nurses like Rufaidah Bin Sa’ad, Florence Nightingale and Cecilia Makiwane and carving their own piece of history into this honourable profession. He thanked the nurses for being the heartbeat of healthcare, bringing smiles to patients and for comforting families through rough times. He said that being a nurse is not an easy talk, it takes not only skill but human heart as well.

Nursing Manager Hestelle Louw did the traditional reading of the pledge and candle lighting. The celebration ended with a specially prepared lunch and handing out of gifts.
